Emaciated Dog called Jackson Browne meets his doctor and undergoes Heartworm Treatment

thedogliberator.blogspot.com Please visit our blog to donate toward Jackson's care. or, join us on Facebook; http Jackson Browne is transported to The Dog Liberator and tells his story: If you don't want your heart to break, stop reading now! Jackson Brown came to us almost starved to death, with only enough strength to wag his tail. He was found by a young couple who worked for a landscaping company. In early October they had been hired to mow the lawn around an abandoned home. Imagine their horror when they found, hidden in the tall grass, an emaciated dog, covered in dirt, fleas and filth because he was tied to a two-foot chain. Imagine their heartbreak when the dog raised his head and wagged his tail. The cry went out; "Can anyone help?" It would require effort. The dog was starved and heartworm positive. We couldn't say no. It is mid-October and Jackson Brown is with us now. He was transported some distance and it was hard on him. He threw up the first couple of days. But he is making leaps and bounds (figuratively now, but literally soon, I'm sure). He is on a special diet of homemade chicken and rice. He is playing with the other dogs. He is snuggling with the children. He is discovering what it is to be loved. He didn't need to discover how to give love ~ amazingly, he never forgot how. Aren't dogs amazing? We expect it may take a month or two to get him up to speed. He will be treated for heartworms by Dr. Sharon Wayne of Murphy's Vet Clinic in Sanford, Florida ...
